Many people, surviving cancer missed some kind of care, due to costs, new study finds.
Even simple doctor visits may be too costly for some survivors of cancer.
Surveyed thousands of patients showed that 18 per cent of survivors of cancer were forgoing care, ranging from dental and mental health care in filling prescriptions.
Scientists estimate until 2 million U.S. cancer survivors skipped needed care within three years of study.
"A large number is surprising, because we know that cancer survivors are extremely vigilant about their health and is probably not something they forgo lightly," Kathryn Weaver, clinical psychologist at Wake Forest University Health Sciences, who led the research, says Shots in the United States has approximately 12 million cancer suvivors
